The Cold Lake Hawks competitive teams generally compete at the Tier 4 level within the Lakeland District Soccer Association (LDSA), operating under District 7 of the Alberta Soccer Association (ASA). League play is determined by registration numbers and team availability from all participating communities.
The Indoor season begins once LDSA has finalized team registrations from across the district. Games are typically scheduled on weekends and require travel to Cold Lake, Bonnyville, and Lac La Biche.
The season concludes with district playoffs to determine which teams will represent LDSA at the Tier 4 Boarded Provincials.
Participation in the Competitive/Traveling Program includes mandatory travel commitments, which include but are not limited to:
Regular Lakeland District league games
Two mandatory tournaments selected by the coach and approved by CLSA
ASA Provincials (U13-U19), if the team qualifies
Optional tournaments the team may choose to enter (not mandatory)
To ensure commitment and accountability, a $200 travel bond will be collected at registration. This bond will be fully refunded at the end of the season, provided all mandatory travel commitments have been fulfilled.
CLSA aims to provide a consistent, development-focused program. While specific practice and game nights may vary, scheduling is influenced by:
Number of player registrations
LDSA league schedule
Facility availability
A finalized schedule, including game dates and training sessions, will be shared approximately 2-3 weeks before the season begins.
After registration closes, the CLSA Board will assign coaches to each team. Once finalized, families will receive direct communication from the assigned coach or manager.

All competitive teams will also utilize the RAMP Team App for scheduling, updates, and team communication.
All players in the U9-U19 competitive divisions are required to have a Player ID Card, which is used for eligibility verification at league games, tournaments, and Provincials.
Player cards are issued by the CLSA Registrar and will include:
Players full name
ASA ID number
Photo
Year of birth
These cards are managed by the teams coach or manager and must be presented to referees prior to each match.
